CAN WORK LEGALLY FOR 20/40 PER WEEK
Students in Ireland who are non-EU/EEA nationals on a Stamp 2 immigration permission are permitted to work up to 20 hours per week during term time and up to 40 hours per week during designated holiday periods. Citizens of the EU/EEA, Switzerland, and the UK have no work restrictions.
Working Hours for Non-EU/EEA Students:
Students from outside the EU/EEA must be enrolled in a full-time course that is on the Interim List of Eligible Programmes (ILEP) to have the right to work. The specific work conditions are tied to their immigration permission (Stamp 2) and are as follows:
- Term Time: Up to a maximum of 20 hours per week.
- Holiday Periods: Up to a maximum of 40 hours per week during two specific, standardised periods:
- June 1st to September 30th (inclusive)
- December 15th to January 15th (inclusive)
These dates are fixed regardless of an individual college's actual academic calendar. Students must have a valid Irish Residence Permit (IRP) card and a Personal Public Services (PPS) number to work.

All full-time international students receive their own protection policy through a third party. In compliance with the Protection of Enrolled Learners (2012 Act, Part 6), Liffey College has arrangements in place for all students who have paid fees and enrolled in programmes lasting three months or more.
Yes. Morning classes run 4 days a week, Monday to Thursday, from 09:00 to 13:00. Afternoon classes run 5 days a week, Monday to Friday, from 13:45 to 17:00. These schedules help students balance their studies with part-time job opportunities.
