Health & Safety Guidelines

Health & safety and other guidelines for face-to-face classes:

Arrive on time
Proper timekeeping is not affected by any measures. Everyone must respect timetables.

Please note the times shown. They are times you should be in class and not arriving and doing various things like sanitising yourself.

Morning schedule:
09:15 to 12:30 (Mon-Fri)

Afternoon schedule:
13:45 to 17:00 (Mon-Fri)
Handwashing/sanitisation stations are set up throughout the College. Please wash and/or sanitise hands upon entering the building and proceed straight to your classroom. Proper handwashing is better than sanitising. Please remain in your classroom. Do not go out of the building to return later like for coffee or food or to smoke. Do everything before you come. Attend class and leave.

Learners are not permitted to leave the classrooms together and must remain inside until the end of class (except to go to the toilet). There are no designated break times; instead, classes will finish 15 minutes earlier (at 12:15 for morning classes / at 16:45 for afternoon classes). The tutor will allow for some unofficial downtime during the class. There are no smoke breaks.

There are no breaks outside classrooms.

Learners are to remain in class: Only snacks listed are allowed into the classrooms / building at any time. Only 1 bottle of drinking water is allowed, in fact 1 bottle of water is recommended. Learners are not permitted to go out to the shops between and during classes.

Please maintain a good distance from one another.

Make sure you allow time for queues and other delays. Classes will start on time. If a learner is not in class on time, they will not be given attendance. As there may be queues to get into the college and to handwash please allow for extra time. Classes start at 09:15 (morning schedule) / 13:45 (afternoon schedule). There is no leeway. Timekeeping must be respected.

Tutors will take attendance in class as normal and diligently mark learners absent if they are not present at the right time/s. Learners must be present for the duration of class in order to get attendance.

Each learner’s classroom will be clearly displayed on the homepage of their Liffey College student login: https://student.liffeycollege.ie/login

Learners will be given attendance once they log in to the online system from within the classroom. Tutors will also take attendance on their physical attendance register in the classroom.

Learners are expected to bring their own electronic devices to class to access the online platform and class materials. Mobile phones may be used although a laptop or tablet is recommended.
