Health and Safety Guidelines for Learner’s at Liffey College. At Liffey College, your health and safety are our top priorities. To create a safe and secure learning environment, please adhere to the following guidelines:

General ConductRespect: Treat fellow students, staff, and visitors with respect and dignity at all times.
Responsibility: Be responsible for your own actions and their impact on others and the college environment.
Fire SafetyKnow Your Exits: Familiarise yourself with all fire exits in the building and know the route to the assembly point.
Participation in Drills: Take fire drills seriously. Follow instructions and evacuate the building promptly when required.
Do Not Block Exits: Ensure that all fire exits and corridors are clear of obstacles and personal belongings.

First Aid and EmergenciesAid and Emergencies
First Aid Kits: Know the location of first aid kits around the college (at reception/admin office).
Report Incidents: Immediately inform a staff member if you are injured or witness an accident. All injuries, no matter how minor, should be reported.
Emergency Contacts: Familiarise yourself with emergency contact numbers (e.g., 999/112 for emergencies).
Classroom SafetyMaintain Cleanliness: Keep your classroom tidy and dispose of waste properly. Do not leave personal items or litter behind.
Equipment Care: Handle all classroom equipment carefully. Report any damaged or malfunctioning equipment to a teacher or a staff member.
Health and Hygiene·         Hand Hygiene: Wash your hands frequently, especially before meals and after using the restroom, to maintain good health.
·         Seek Medical Advice When Unwell: If you are feeling ill, especially with contagious symptoms, consider visiting your GP. If you decide to come to college, please wear a face mask to protect the health of others.

Substance UseNo Drugs or Alcohol: The use or possession of illegal substances and alcohol on college premises is strictly prohibited.
Designated Smoking Areas: Smoking is allowed only in designated outdoor areas. Do not smoke inside the building.
Digital SafetyResponsible Internet Use: Use college digital resources (computers and Wi-Fi) responsibly and only for educational purposes.
Report Cyberbullying: If you experience or witness cyberbullying or inappropriate online behaviour, report it to a staff member immediately.
Reporting ConcernsVoice Your Concerns: If you notice any health and safety hazards, report them to a staff member immediately. Your observations can help maintain a safe environment.
Confidentiality: All reports of incidents, concerns, or harassment will be taken seriously and handled confidentially.
