Temporary Accommodation Options

Liffey College offers temporary hostel accommodation through Leevin Hostel, which is available at different price points based on room-sharing preferences (subject to change and availability):

  1. Sharing with 1–8: €180 per week.
  2. Sharing with 1–6: €195 per week.
  3. Sharing with 1–4: €220 per week.
  4. Sharing with 1–3: €245 per week.
  5. Sharing with 1–2: €270 per week.

Important Notes:

  1. This accommodation is not owned or managed by Liffey College. While Liffey College facilitates this service, it is not responsible for bookings made directly via Leevin Hostel. In the event that a student has booked through Liffey College and the college is unable to arrange for the accommodation, the fee paid for this service will be fully refunded.
  2. Learners who wish to avail of temporary accommodation services through Liffey College must communicate their accommodation needs at least 8 weeks prior to their arrival and include the exact date they wish to book.

This advance notice period allows sufficient time for the booking to be secured and ensures that learners have accommodation available upon arrival. It also provides learners with the opportunity to settle in and explore their options for long-term housing.

Booking Procedure:

  1. Submit Accommodation Request: Learners can book this accommodation directly through Liffey College using the following link:

Reservation will be done by Liffey College upon receipt of the booking form.

  1. Choose Accommodation Type: Make your selection based on preferences and budget.
  2. Confirm Booking: Upon receiving the request form, booking will be confirmed and learners will receive confirmation via their Letter of Acceptance.
  3. Change or Cancellation: Bookings may be changed or cancelled up to 21 days before check-in.

Payment:  Students are required to make the payment for their accommodation no later than 45 days prior to their departure. In cases of emergency bookings, immediate payment is necessary to confirm the accommodation. After payment verification, students will be issued an updated acceptance letter containing the accommodation address and relevant check-in instructions.

Cancellation/Change Policy: Bookings made directly through Liffey College can only be changed or cancelled up to 21 days before the check-in date. After this period, the booking will be finalised, and any fees associated with the accommodation will be non-refundable.

Upon successful payment confirmation, students will receive a letter issued by Amber confirming their booking, which contains booking details including the dates of their stay and accommodation specifics as well as contact information for support regarding their accommodation.

Cancellation/Change Process: All requests for changes or cancellations must be addressed directly with Amber. It is imperative for students to familiarise themselves with the specific policies regarding modifications to their bookings to avoid any inconvenience.

Liffey College will ensure that all accommodation services offered by Liffey College meets all legal, health and safety statutory requirements. Information pertaining to learners, responsible staff and other stakeholders are detailed in the college’s QA handbook and the website which is available to all. This procedure is intended to offer clarity and structure for both the learners and the staff responsible for overseeing accommodation arrangements.

Responsibilities:

  • Inspection of accommodation is conducted by the Marketing and Sales Director.
  • Implementation of this procedure is supported by the Centre Director.

Process:

  1. Six-Month Accommodation Inspections: Every six months, the Marketing and Sales Director and the Centre Director conduct in-person visits to all accommodations used by learners. These visits ensure that:
    (a) The accommodations comply with health and safety regulations.
    (b) They meet the immigration and QQI requirements for international students.Inspection Checklist: During each visit, the inspectors use a detailed checklist to assess but not limited to the following:

    1. Cleanliness and hygiene standards.
    2. Availability of fire safety equipment.
    3. General maintenance of the premises.
    4. Adequacy of living conditions, such as room size and amenities.
    5. Proximity to transportation links and local amenities.

    Documentations: In addition to completing the checklist, inspectors take photographs of the premises as evidence of their condition. This visual documentation is stored for future reference and as proof of compliance during any audits or regulatory reviews.

  2. Reporting and Follow-Up: Should any issues be identified during the inspection, a report is generated, and corrective actions are implemented. If the accommodation provider fails to meet the required standards, Liffey College may suspend future bookings with that provider until the issues are resolved.
  3. Evidence: The inspection checklist, photographs and other evidences are stored, ensuring that there is always a clear record of the inspection results.
